the more you try to change some one,
the further away their new path leads them
from your pivotal standpoint.
your efforts to change,
succeed in the smallest of ways
but redirect parallels;
side-by-side becomes sine; motion, disruption
people change...
but now’s become now,
times renew,
& pasts become dried hickory branches on roadsides
and your next rain does not encourage growth.
