"The Steps it Takes to See"

Not all of them tonight,
But basement baseboards at an eye's level
Predict the flight may taken
What it takes within to see
A final complication;
Horrifying to those, but abstract Understanding.

Life won't let you take two steps at a time
Evident in your reaction time
Yet life displays and death is your main concern
And where lies conflict but with intent.

The artist struggles, claws, scrapes, grabs
The alternate pulls on the side of gravity
And wins every time
In the physical world.
