close distant dog barks against a navy-black sky ...thought
alternative silence, love, i know she's approaching slow.
nature's midnight hiss helps to concentrate on the coming offer.
waiting patient for a disturbance of surprise, wonder;
a full grown buck taps across the pavement into her direction.
my darkest times are spent close to my soul,
and all that i see in midnight is how i see.
it's a later shade of midnight now,
and though Time has changed too, it has no wardrobe.
gentle senses find my darkest mind
to notice now .. that first breeze, that first opened beak,
my love's eyes tainting darkenss with her pinks.
perhaps tomorrow wont be too beautiful to ask.
